*Sandblasting a cute rusty dog* Today I do a quick restoration of a cast iron dachshund. I will give it a good sandblast and paint it black and gold color.

*About the dog*
The rusty dog are made out of cast iron. I got it from a barn sale here in Sweden. It’s a dachshund and this type of cast iron dogs are usually used in front of the fireplace.

The cute dog who did a short stand-in in the sandblaster cabin is our new family dog “Happi” He is a very lovely and happy 12-week-old Bichon Havanese puppy who is going to follow me to work once in a while.

*The restoration process*
I started by sandblasting the cast iron dog using Aluminum oxide and 120 psi. After this I added 2 layers of grey metal primer. When this had dried, I added 2 layers of black matte paint and dry brushed some gold color to enhance the details on the dog.

THERE WERE ABSOULTELY NO HARM DONE TO OUR LITTLE PUPPY
While our dog was in the sandblaster cabinet being filmed, he was very safe. The cabinet was effectively cleaned before we let him inside the sandblaster cabinet and the air pressure was off. So there was no risk of harming the puppy. We were playing with him in the cabinet before we started filming, so his sad look on the video is because we stopped playing. All the sad dog sounds are added to the video to give more drama.
