So question can you get surge on top of the hourly bonus rate. It’s New Year’s Eve and Lyft will be gouging riders. Surge would be really high. A way to keep surge down would be to offer a flat bonus. Makes drivers think they are making money but it’s just another way to increase the take rate.

When I was in Ann Arbor, MI, that area doesn’t have upfront trip info so screwber would throw me a shitty nature hike either to some shitty detoilet hood or to some sleepy suckburb far away from Ann Arbor (where I also lived too). They always did that either right before a big surge or when I was doing consecutive trips or boost + promos.
They also loved sending me these 30+ minute rides when I was close to hitting a big quest. Screwber is a bunch of douche bags!

Lyft Ride Bonus Areas: Sat 3pm-4pm $6. 9pm-10pm $2. 11pm-12am $2
Bonus Hour Sun 9pm-10pm $6. 11pm-12am $4
You only need to be in the zone for the FIRST ride, if you make it to a fourth which starts another then you need to be in that zone.

However these companies is going to cause a hardship that many industries is going to take the L on because they are not paying the driver. The taking advantage is coming to a end….fires are brewing everywhere.

I retired from commercial driving. Driving for Lyft . It's tops the hardest job I've ever done.. fighting the layers of missed sleep .dealing with people bullshit and lack of class .the kens and Karen's who don't tip. Seeing homeless and hearing people's sadness ain't healthy for drivers neither .I been doing this shit for less than a year. It feels like 30 years . I sleep all mixed up hours …I eat fast food .I gained weight. I piss everywhere. Drive like a nut. Just for a 3.11 cent ride. I drove through Christmas. Wtf. Professor is right . Got to get off the hamster wheel. 🐹
Uber makes me take a pic every time I turn the app off. It gets so dang old. I especially turn it off to get out of dangerous areas. Then when ive driven far enough away and try to turn back on I have to find a place to pull over to take my pic. It's beyond sickening.

Lyft in Atlanta only pays me $4 to $5 on 12 mile or less trips . It literally takes all day to just make $60 to $100. I did 58/rides to pay off a $310 rental car last week . 😞 A customer showed me today where she paid $14.32 to go 0.5 miles on a return trip . I got paid $4.02 . Lyft is taking 65% to 75% of all revenue in the Atlanta area. It’s almost pointless to drive anymore with a rental car
