I bought a floor model 55" Sony X950G in 2020 , it was the last one left in the city because they were the out going model, so it was on everyday in that store for over a year. It's used all the time, kids watch Netflix or play video games on it, we have hockey games on it. Still going strong. It's a great TV, never a problem and we got it for so cheap. Since it was mostly for the kids and casual viewing, I was okay with a floor model. For my home theatre TV downstairs, however… 65" Panasonic OLED, definitely NOT a floor model, and WAY more expensive.

Why do TVs usually have brighter small HDR highlights than the entire screen can do? I see in measurements, a peak 10% window or sustained 10% window measurement for HDR highlights but don't understand how a TV can hit a certain brightness level but not sustain it, especially LED TVs. How can a smaller area get brighter than all the zones turned to the max? For OLED, this may make sense with ABL but I don't understand this in relation to FALD LED TVs.
I really like this format. You should keeo doing more of these. Pretty much every community is olagued with more questions than anything else

Caleb mentioned he is using the blackbird 2.1 hdmi 1×4 switcher to connect the other sources… what switcher manufacturers is everyone else using? And has it affected your sound quality? I see the blackbird doesn’t support Dolby Atmos… any help?
I get that blue light can cause eye strain but, I hate the look of warm settings. It looks so out if place that i can't immerse myself in whatever content I'm trying to watch.
Shutting off Motion smoothing on a hotel tv is one of life's little joys.
Caleb I was having a trouble with row 8 where the music would come through just fine but the voices would not work at all so I got a hold of row 8 app and they fixed it they went from the model number of the Roku that I had and they fixed it the other Roku I have didn't have a problem so some of these sound issues can be fixed by the people that run the app
Do TV recommendations change when an AppleTV is added that handles some/most of the processing? Thinking that the Sony processing benefits are not as significant with the AppleTV handling some/most of the work. If that is the case, does the Samsung become a better/less expensive choice in OLEDs?

For me the most annoying is when launching Netflix app on my Apple TV, the starting chime of Netflix… that's so loud, even if I don't have my audio that loud…
Hello! Received my Calibrated A95l From VE last week.. Love the TV but for some reason when Streaming certain content from YouTube/. and YouTube; TV the skin tones are very strange…patches of white and glistening appearance. Netflix dolby vision is fine. Blue rays are fine. I'm using Apple TV K for all platforms and content. Also have this problem with non HD movies. Any suggestions?

Agree, blue light is 100% a thing, when I first got a job working on computer screens I was getting terrible headaches and eyestrain, bought some glasses with the blue light blocking filter and boom – no more headaches or eyestrain.
OMG, yes about the volume- specifically the level (loudness) of it.
For years I've been saying that the volume of the audio should be universal (done from the speaker source). Whatever channel I flip to, or input I use, or device I connect should be the same level.
Honestly, the volume buttons are the most used on my remote because switching from console to PC to streaming is a volume level mess. Some sources are too quite, while others are too loud.
