2 tablespoons of brown sugar,
a pinch of salt,
Some jam to line the bottom of the pastry case,
100 grams of cornflakes.
Add the butter, golden syrup brown sugar and salt to a saucepan
and heat on low till all has melted.
Remove from heat and stir in the cornflakes.
Spread a layer of jam over the pastry case and spoon the cornflake mix
into the pastry case and bake at 180 for 5 minutes.
Remove and let it cool before eating.

Oh crumbs that takes you back a bit.! I remember that for school dinners with a nice custard. Yes I had it in the 60s. Hope your holiday is going well.
Looks very nice but not for me to sweet 👍👍👍👍
Never had cornflake tart at school we had gypsy tart thats very sweet too but love it even now 😊😊
Nearly called in for a cuppa last Saturday……………….went to the members day at RAF Coningsby ………………………………….
Loved this when I was a kid but I have to say Martin, you're the only person I know who can get away with saying "get it into all the corners" when Sharon is spreading the jam on a round case 😂👍
My favourite school dessert was Gypsy tart and lemon curd sauce ,thankyou for the memories 😎👏👏👏💖
Me and my family love all your simple recipes, as we don’t like over complicated food, have you ever thought about making some kind of cook book x
Hi guys. How/who does the voice of your ingredients list? I’ve always wondered. Cheers as always.
Not pink blamoge, pink custard, at school, when I had my bakery cornflake slice was one of my best sellers
I was at school in the 1960s but never had cornflake tart, but had treacle tart with some crushed cornflakes on the top and custard to go with it.
That takes me back to school dinners, find it to far sweet to be honest.
A question for you both I have a 2 drawer air fryer, wanting to buy something else I have an induction job, had good reviews on the Cosori dual blaze and the oven thingy, I like the pressure cooker but they frighten me, what appliance would you recommend out of all of your appliances please, I’m swaying towards the dual blaze but after seeing the oven demos on your channel I’m not sure, thank you in anticipation xx loving all your videos btw, I’ve been binge watching xx
Not my favourite never really liked that, I made the custard tart one it was yummy. ❤
Our junior school way back in the 50s it's was made with lemon curd on the bottom a d afew cornflakes on the top with custard ofcourse.
😋❤️
Very interesting, never had this at my school in Penge. Looks far too sweet for my liking now.
I dont remember ever having cornflake tart 🤔
I never had or remembered mum doing this I'm just turned 60 to . Love Greece have fabulous time ,
Must be an English thing..We never had what you call school lunches?
We just had packed lunches our Mums made for us!
I agree Sandra..Too sweet and sickly after a couple of mouthfuls!.
Hi Martin and Sharon, it looks really nice but as you say you couldn't eat a lot of it. It might be better with a tartier jam like blackcurrant. I'm going to try those pastry cases to make a Bakewell tart. I always keep the Chinese takeaway containers as they are good quality.
Love corn flake tart 😋 great demo guys ❤
Yummy it looks delicious 😊.
Looked yummy. I used to have this when I was a kid too. We cheated and just put. Or flakes on top of a jam tart. Serious question now ….What I don’t get when a recipe says use unsalted butter and then says add salt in the recipe. What’s the point of using unsalted butter. lol.
