i have just found the odd Chafer grub will garlic get rid of them ?
Hey Rob is good to see your videos again and thanks for the tips to getting us ready for spring.
My question is, I know it’s early but I’m based in southwest of England when will be the best time for me to get my lawn scarified?
I know the region where we leave has impact on that process and I don’t want to be late in that important process for my lawn!
Hi Robbie I’m here in the wet south west Tralee is it too early to apply a lawn feed?
Robbie in your opinion what is the best grass seed to over seed with north west of England, partially shaded lawn👍
Thanks for the great Video Robbie, lots of great tips as always. Can you explain a bit more about the seaweed spray you applied, what’s the purpose and what does it actually do at this time of year please? Where I live it was minus 3c last night, but today it’s really sunny. Does the lawn actually start photosynthesis in these temps and absorb the seaweed?
great video – can you recommend grass seed for bare spots?
NO.does not come until..20th March.
Great video. Should you bag the grass on first cut of the year or does it matter?
Strange weather at the minute.. keep up the good work!
Great wee vid. Smashing idea with the boards. I am just going oot to cut the lawns just now, hopefully it will stay dry. I cant wait for the season proper and see what yir up to. Cheers Robbie.
Can't wait to start working on my lawn! Past week it went from lush green to "lush" yellow :/ not sure why. Thankfully more sun hits the grass now.
Here in upstate NY USA ground is still frozen. We have had a very mild winter with little snow.
Cut mine two days ago, was thinking of scarifying next week but I won't now after your advice. Great job 👍
Great video Robbie 👍🏾 the ground is still too wet over here to make a start, we seem to be having frosty morning again too
Brilliant timing as ever Robbie. I cut our lawns and orchard for the first time yesterday, picked up more leaves than grass but the lawns looked so much better for a trim.
Can you put on too much iron? Put on lawn sand last week plan to start of march again then scarify then after that onto summer fertiliser. Cheers.
My lawns were devastated by grubs /crane flies last year one minute looking like a golf course next all dying off in patches had a dig there they are.. treated all lawns for it in Oct ive lost so much grass and gained a phenomenal amount of moss where i never usually get moss. i have 6 lawns and i need to basically start from scratch AGAIN!! I just hope the treatment will last because the hatch i had this year in my lawns was unreal.
So once its warmed up a tad i will hit it with some iron and get the scarifier on them and off we go again lol… 100% dwarf perennial rye mix this year forget the fescues see what happens?
On yourself big guy
Arrrghh, Don't stand on your nice clean edges, they'll bow over. Where possible, I usually cut at a bit of an angle from beds and borders towards the lawn.
Ah ok, so you can feed your lawn this time of year. Wasn't sure.
Two weeks back I did a compleat clean up of my flower beds during the hard frosts as not to blacken and damage lawn … now I have yellow damaged grass where I travelled on it …HELP
Can’t wait to be able to get our lawn spring ready, winter and the wet weather has really taken its toll on it this season. Looks muddy and more patchy than my hairline 😞
Daniel still in Tahiti?
Great work Robbie! 🎉
Great video as always Robbie.
It was -25C in Canada this week so I'll have to re-watch this in a couple of months time….
My lawn is in such a terrible state. Left too long over winter and with too much leaf fall, it now resembles a rugby pitch. Plus moss has taken over big style. Got my work cut out this year I think
Hello Robbie lawn season, great video. Did my first cut today looks better already, looking forward to the season and creating a first class lawn with your help. 👍👍👍👍👽
Your gardens looking good Robbie after the tidy up, roll on the spring time.!!
Hi really enjoy your videos can’t wait for the season to start still a bit cold and wet here on Isle of Man 🤟👍🏻😎
Is it not way too cold to be mowing? Where im from (netherlands) we still have below 0 at night sometimes
What Height would you recommend cutting this time of year ✋👍
my soil temp is around 6degC during the day right now. Can i put down some rye seed yet, to still abit too early? What should day time soil temp be for guaranteed rye germination?
Cheers Robbie Just getting all ready here and with the iron on and slowly looking at at what i need to do.
I’ve just been putting my iron on but it feels like spring today.
