Wow. So many scams it might not be worthwhile to go for thr added stress. Are there specific restaurants to avoid or restaurants in a certain area?

If anyone wants something a bit more natural and calmer then i would recomend going to Koh Chang. I think Phuket is to "touristified" for me. Its a bit overrated as well. I didnt really liked it there. The only good thing is the beautiful island nature. Other than that it is overpriced and overrated. There are proberbly far better islands around southeastasia.
The room down grade from what you booked is a common scam, not just in Phuket, but also in Bangkok. If you have the photos of the booking tell them you are going to call the Tourist Police and you'll get the room you actually booked.
Scam…fun for free. Be careful. Hahaha.
Watch out for the police. I was determined not to get scammed. But the police jacked me for 3 thousand baht. Thailand should be ashamed!!!!!!
Just remember Nothing is Free…just don't talk to anyone approaching you to bring you for a good time etc.

The problem in Patong is: Phuket is a second india. Scam and overprice everywhere.

Phuket is nice but expensive. Pattaya much more cheaper.
Paying 300 BHT is not a crime if the food is great. Besides what can you eat for 600BHT? Our bill normally comes around 1,500BHT or more with good sea food selection for 04 people. Stayed in Phuket and never had any problems.
If you are a little naive, too faithful, trusting everyone,
doesn't learn from your mistakes, doesn't understand how to dress or behave around people, if you don't inform yourself about things, doesn't understand common sense. Then you don't have to go to Thailand to get scammed, it will happen everywhere for you.
