  1. In the U.S., in buildings before 1950, it's quite common to see three-prong outlets with a fake ground. The houses weren't wired with it, so they replaced the hardware and left it open. And you'll never know without intentionally testing it. So it's on us.

  2. One of my favorite things to make in an air fryer is ravioli. Usually I do this when there are leftovers after cooking ravioli for dinner. Non-sauced, boiled ravioli. Make a mixture of olive oil, decent amount of salt, and whatever dry spices you like (usually I pick paprika, onion powder and garlic powder). The amount depends on how much ravioli you're using, but make enough of the oil and spice mix to coat them all completely. Fry them in batches so that they sit in your air fryer basket in a single layer. 380F (193C), or whatever the closest temperature setting on your air fryer is, for 15 minutes. Make sure to flip them after 7 or 8 minutes before letting them finish. Makes an excellent snack.

  3. Fun fact: air fryers are not actually fryers because they, well, use air, they are more like mini convection ovens…….never mind, he mentioned that.

Your puns are great, so glad I subscribed to this channel.

  4. I use the air fryer to make chicken wings. Small amount of corn flour with the spices you want. Then cook on 180° for 50 mins but turn 2 or 3 times. Good for 4 or 5 wings, depending on the size of the fryer. As good as making them in the over but don’t have to heat the full oven

  5. Hey barry! Love the videos but thought id leave a comment about your new air frier. I got the exact same one in October and had to return it last week because it started spitting bright orange electricity out of the bottom. Im sure itll be fine but dont leave it unattended!
I did take a video but don't have twitter to send it over :(.

  6. Like Adam regusia said. Air "fryer" are just small convection ovens. So of course you can make bread and cake in it. As a single I recommend one for energy saving reasons. And they are heating much faster then an oven. I still think fryer is the wrong term for it tho.

  7. Despite their name, air fryers are just tiny convection ovens. They are more energy efficient because the volume that needs to be heated is so much smaller than a regular oven and the air circulation is also made to be very efficient in that small space. The trick is putting things in that don't overcrowd the inside of the air fryer so the air flow is not disrupted and also baking small enough things that the heat has a chance to go all the way inside before the outside crisps up too much (which it will do faster as there is air flowing quickly over the surface)

  8. Here are some helpful tips about getting Air Fryer liners: You want to make sure the silicon isn't too thick or isn't holely
If its too thick the heat won't transfer well and if it has holes, that will be fairly difficult to clean and will give little bits a way to go into the holes. I recommend parchment liners with high sides that are disposable.

  9. I've so far cooked fish, chips, pies, pasties, sausage rolls, sausage and kale bake, and a korean-style beef stew in the air fryer. I noticed anything that uses liquid does need a little more else it dries real fast even if you adjust cooking time/temp.

  10. I will have to try bread from scratch in my air fryer some time. I've used it often for cooking those part baked bread rolls and baguettes from the supermarket (I do 155C for about 6 minutes, no preheating needed). A great way to have freshly baked bread quickly and with a lot less electricity needed compared to the same thing in the regular oven.
Roasted veg is good in the air fryer, breakfast foods too (hash browns, sausages, fried slice, also veggie bacon – not sure if proper bacon works as I'm vegetarian). Maybe try doing a full English in the air fryer and microwave?

  11. I am using Ninja Air Fryer from last two years and since than I never looked at my oven anymore. 9kg capacity Ninja – u can cook full chicken, fish, fries, pressure cooker sheep meat, lintels basically anything, u need to use your imagination if any 😊

  12. We had the bucket version but found it a bit limiting however we have now got a big 11 litre one with wire wracks etc in and we love it, it has the rod for spit roasting a chicken, its stunning how it cooks stuff, we love it 🙂

  13. As a specs wearer, dont worry about the flaring, you get used to it and turning head a bit more to accommodate it. I started having to use varifocals 2 years ago and weirdly, literally got home 30mins ago from picking up new pair. Stick with it, its really odd for a week or two but before you know it, you wont even think about it. 👍
