  1. Chris- long time subscriber- first time comment. Really enjoy your (and Jens) channels brother! Real world stuff and good info. You are very talented. Solid quality and strong editing. Take care and be safe. – John

  2. There's nothing wrong with using ATF in a power steering pump. I've done it for years. I've got a soft spot in my heart for those Torino Elite models. I loved my 76. BTW, is that a Cleveland or a Windsor 351?

  3. Very well done! I wish for longer and more content from you! Always pleasure to watch you work on something. I am a professional mechanic and it's nice to see someone not working on the clock. Especially someone with great knowledge like you!

  4. Love that car! My friend had one back in the day that was black with a red interior. What a nice car. I have to admit to being a bit envious. I found this very interesting. Although I have replaced a power steering pump or two back in the day, I never saw the internal workings of one or knew exactly how they worked. Thanks and I look forward to more Elite videos.

  5. Excellent video Gus 🙂 also one thing learned to save Power Steering Pump plus Water Pump is one teaspoon in each of 80w90 differential fluid one ever 3 years and save from leaks and seals plus bearings too ! Plus does work really fast and very good how I know I explained! Back 2007 in January my pickup was heading home work at Vechile restoration shop work at smell antifreeze bad so got fuel and open hood and saw water pump wheeping hole spit fluid out plus water red glow color and so let cool down when pump gas in and hood up then open rad take off turn 1/2 off with gloves plus old rags ! To then grab fluid tool box found 80w90 differential fluid add 1 teaspoons in rad cap hole after squeeze top and bottom rad hose ! Put more Antifreeze in plus cap on then found Power bit leak too so did 1 teaspoon 80w90 in and then full on hot Mark ! Started up engine turn Steering wheel back forth 6 times then checked Water pump quit leaking too also cool down too! But next before when to work put new water pump & power steering pump plus 2 belts on to plus Antifreeze top plus thermostat plus gasket! Save that 80w90 differential fluid from worst nightmare too of frost plus change and much more got me home and plus to Auto parts store to! But found water pump inner proller not turn perfectly round like clock click plus tight up spots plus bearings went too and Power Steering need rebuilt too when check over ! But Auto parts store save me lots trouble no problem after plus did change rad cap too ! Learned that trick from late Dad and long time boss at one job had year's ago to teaching me lots Auto Mechanics shop stuff in Appericatship too! But always say keep fluid on hand never know when need them ! Also yes Jen does excellent work Gus and drive too and give my opinion too! Like see more videos on Torino car and anything want show too! We shared more ideas on together to on my comments to!

  6. Well, the way that one fluid versus another would damage it has to do with the types of plastic and rubber the manufacturer has chosen to use in the system and their chemical resistance to different choices of hydraulic fluid. The wrong fluid could easily be what happened to all these old dead gaskets.

  7. I miss the mechanical days where you could take it apart, learn how it functioned ,see how and why they failed ,then give it new life! Nowadays it's just buy new components and go .

  8. Thought this was going to be her daily car. I've been trying to get my wife to daily one of my classics but she only will if her Nissan xterra has an issue, says they are too big. Really enjoy your content, like how you mix things up.

  9. Beautiful car. You both have done a great job restoring it. At the end, where you have the old advertisement, isn't that Ronald Reagan describing the Torino? Sure sounds like it to me. I have watch a good many of your videos and have enjoyed every one.
