Thanks for video. Love from Uttar Pradesh India.
Okay, so what is bigger, the last two twin primes or tree(3)?
Okay, so what is bigger, the last two twin primes or tree(3)?
As a non-mathematician, I'm curious, compared to answering the actual RH, what's the significance of answering GRH? Is it still connected to twin prime conj? How close is it to answering RH?
I love Tony's vids even when I don't understand much of it. That's my issue not his.
What if they found a Seigel Zero, but also found that it was the only one?
It annoys me that people still talk about the sum of natural numbers being equal to -1/12. This is false. The sum is infinite since it's a diverging series. The sum of -1/12 is called a Ramanujan sum, or Cesaro sum, which is not a sum in the usual sense. Google it for more info.
why does this feel like betting the "don't pass" line in Craps?
And numberphile has jumped the shark. This is impossible to follow.
How can you expect anyone to believe anything you say when you insist that the sum of positive integers is a negative fraction.
I'm drunk in the morning
Even If RH were indeed true, then it still useless in terms of finding mega primes billion digit primes because we must first find a formula to find all non trivial zeroes.. , finding non trivial zeroes to find one billion digit prime?? lol 😂😂😂
My take on a classic math(s) joke:
A mathematician says a series has a finite limit when it is convergent…
A physicist says a series has a finite limit when the first term is finite…
Numberphile says a series has a finite limit if it has any terms at all.
Note: Yes, I know that they don't mean that zeta(-1) has a finite limit when they say it "equals" -1/12, that it is just a question semantics, but that is what it means to me.
Why do mathematician never explain the their weird theories properly? Why must this and that not be true? What do you mean by "other zeros"? Telleth meee i want to know!
More videos like this, please! This was fantastic.
I do like to know whether Zhang’s proof has been confirmed. I heard the process will take quite some time.
Please someone help me to understand. The existance of siegel zero means the truth of twin prime conj, and RH is false, so is the truth of twin prime conj equivalent to the false RH?
I go 2:30 into this, and we're already into silly math. Thanks, no.
Whoa! Your ζ look like ξ. What up wit dat?
∑ n⁻ˢ = ζ(s) = Catherine ζ Jone(s)?
n∈ℤ ≧ 1
(mine notation ≧ yours, lol) 😂
I really cannot watch this guy after that -1/12 nonsense a few years ago.
If you locate a Siegel Zero,
do NOT make fun of its ponytail…
those things know karate, bruh. ∎
(Or am I thinking of "Segal" Zeros?)
Better watch out for Van Damme Zeros alsoㅡsafety first.👍
I love the way he says, at 6:00, "we don't want to go into all the details here…" when in fact he completely lost me about 4 minutes ago. And the video still has 10 more minutes to run.
It's wild how unintuitive continuums are to pretentious academics.
One thing is for sure. Yitang Zhang is a beast!
I ve been waiting a month for this!
Yitang Zhang is the modern day Hercules of mathematics.
land owl seagull zeros, great name! 😛
0:45 Why does he have a 10 year old calendar hanging on the wall? And who is Jessica?
Interesting stuff! One interesting corollary of the last point about Riemann Zeta tying into physics is that if a physics experiment behaves in an unexpected way in, it could be due to a failure of understanding the mathematics and not a failure of the theory itself.
Or in other words, if there's a weird experimental result that relies on certain interpretation of underlying mathematics, that could develop the mathematical theory as well.
So what if there's an infinite number of twin primes? How many people care? Excluding math'ers
I get the joke but please don't say that a divergent sum has a limit, that is just plain wrong.
I'd love to see a video about how much our current understanding of primes would be completely broken if the Riemann hypothesis were to be disproved.
Chinese-American
Does anyone has a paper on Riemann+ energy levels ? Been hearing it for years but never found a thing…
If Siegel Zeros exist, then Twin Primes is true. What about the converse? If Twin Primes is true does that prove there are no Siegel Zeros? Does the absence of Siegel Zeros prove the Riemann Hypothesis?
In the future we'll refer to "Zhang Numbers" : arbitrary values that allowed us to make headway in various proofs.
What's chi precisely doing?
What's with the shape of χ on the transcription around 5:17? I thought that it was a kappa before I saw the handwritten version.
21-12-22 tell me sir
8:15 so wait, does this mean that either the RH is true or the twin prime conjecture is true? As in either or they can't be both true?
Does it mean that the twin prime conjuncture is false? I don't think the Riemann's hypothesis is false.
The formulation at 8:12 is a bit unfortunate, as it can be read as if only one of the two statements is true, which is not what the Heath-Brown theorem states. It states that at least one of those statements is true.
and you remebr 10 years ago
I like this channel alot, its better than white noise and helps me sleep. No joke, super helpful.
12:07
"Seagul" Zero is in quantum state.
Now we have "Seagul" Zero and Schrodingers Cat.
1:45 what does he mean by that?
Anyone notice the subliminal blinds in the background representing the Riemann strip? 👀
Hold up… maybe I misunderstood. Does this mean Riemann and Twin Prime can’t both be true?😢
(Edit: spelling)
